Job Description

The Store Manager oversees all aspects of operations of the Market ensuring overall store profitability and a superior customer experience. This position is responsible for management of people, product, processes and/or initiatives in support of creating a warm and inviting neighborhood shopping experience provided to our customers. Bridgeland Market also relies heavily on analytics – using consumer and sales data to better anticipate the products and services our customers need. As such, this managerial position requires higher level skills involved in data analysis and forecasting.
Main Duties:
• Plan, direct and evaluate the operations of Bridgeland Market
• Manage staff and assign duties, including scheduling
• Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes and effect of competitors’ operations on sales
• Determine general merchandise to be sold and negotiate with vendors with specific focus on the procurement and sale of European cheeses
• Analyze both store-wide and department specific sales and expenditures
• Plan budgets and forecast sales based on historic sales performance
• Evaluate and improve customer service and respond to customer requests and issues
• Address staffing requirements, including the hiring, development and retention of staff
Employment Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school is required.
• A university degree or college diploma
• Several years of related retail or wholesale sales experience at increasing levels of responsibility
• Availability to work evenings and weekends
