Job Description

Water Workz Inc. is a Canadian-based construction business that installs water mains, provides water services, and storm and sanitary services mainly as a sub-contractor for the city of Toronto. We are now hiring a pipeline construction supervisor to join our team.
This person will be responsible for:
– Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities ofworkers and drivers who operate cranes and construction, paving, drilling, water maintenance and other similar heavy equipment such as excavators
– Responsible for overseeing the construction of new pipelines and the maintenance of existing ones
– Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other project supervisors or managers
– Ensuring that all safety regulations are followed, including wearing required safety equipment at all times
– Inspecting equipment (such as excavators and related heavy machinery) and making repairs as needed
– Requisition materials and supplies
– Resolve work-related problems
– Train or arrange for training of workers
– Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of helpers and construction labourers
– Coordinating with other departments to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
– Scheduling workers’ shifts and making sure they are aware of any schedule changes
– Helping to plan and coordinate projects, such as construction or maintenance work, by communicating with managers or other team members
– Coordinating with outside contractors to ensure that work is being done according to specifications
– Overseeing the safety of workers on site to protect them from hazards such as falls, electrical shock, and burns.

Ideal candidate must have:
– A minimum of a Secondary School education
– A minimum of 5 years of experience operating an excavator and heavy machinery on construction projects
– A minimum of 5 years of construction experience in pipe installations and service
– Valid G licence
– High proficiency in the English language
– Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
– Strong leadership and communication skills
– Ability to multi-task and work in a stressful and fast-paced environment
– Ability to follow standard operating procedures for Health and Safety
– Strong organizational skills

The position is full-time (40 hours per week + possible overtime hours) Our company offers compensation of 54$ per hour.
