Speelman Farms Ltd. near Olds, AB requires 1 Farm Equipment Operator to provide the following duties:

Job details:
Location of work: On site
Salary: $30.00/hour for 40 to 50 hours per week
Vacancies: 1 Vacancies
Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time
Start date: As soon as possible
Employment conditions: Morning, Day, Evening, Weekends, Overtime Required

Tasks:
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
• Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting,
• Perform routine maintenance & repairs on farm equipment such as changing engine oil, greasing equipment, washing equipment, replacing bearings & belts
• Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
• Perform minor repairs to equipment
• Operate equipment including transporting equipment to farm sites
• Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
• Maintain quality control and production records
• Load and unload trucks with supplies to equipment
• Shovel, sweep, and general clean up
• Ensure safety procedures are followed
• General farm duties
• Fertilize and spray crops
• Harvest crops

Type of crops: Canola, wheat, barley
Work Setting: Rural area
Equipment and machinery experience: Tractor, combine harvester, farm truck, loader. Planting equipment, tillage equipment.

Job Requirements:
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Experience is an asset
Languages: English

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently, attention to detail, handling heavy loads, combination of sitting, standing, walking, large workload.

Personal suitability: Organized, team player, judgement, reliability.
