Southwood Stock Farms Ltd., SE 5-14-15-W4, Vauxhaull, AB is seeking a General Farm Labourer. English speaking workplace, Rural area. Remote location. This role requires strong stockmanhip, observationals skills and commitment to prompt and effective treatment of our cattle.

Wage: $28.00/hour

Experience: 2-3 years experience on a commercial feedlot

Education: Basic

Duties: Riding all designated pens twice daily, dilligently spotting sick or injured cattle. (pulling cattle quickly and efficiently). Accurately diagnosing common feedlot diseases and administering treatments according to veterinary protocols. Maintaining accurate and detailed electronic or paper treatment records for every animal. Utilizing low stress cattle handling techniques during sorting and pulling. Reporting concerning health trends and medication inventory needs to the manager.

Must be able to work weekends.

Must be able to ride and handle a suitable working horse in a feedlot environment (or mandatory proficiency with a UTV/ATV)

Strong understanding of common cattle health diseases (BRD, foot rot, scours, ETC)

Must have a high attention to detail for tracking medidal data.

Commitment to biosecurity and workplace safety protocols.
