Machined Parts Inspector
Wages: $36.00/ hour

Responsibilities
Tasks
• Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts
• Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables
• Repair machine tools and parts
• Set up and adjust production machineries/tools
• Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
• Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments
• Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances
• Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
• Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
• Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools
• Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
• Perform detailed inspection of machined aerospace components using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, gauges, and height gauges.
• Inspect machined and chemically processed parts to verify dimensional accuracy, surface finish, coating consistency, and compliance with specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and GD&T requirements to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Operate automated inspection and dimensional verification equipment including optical comparators and computerized measuring systems.
• Prepare and maintain inspection records, Certificates of Compliance (CoC), quality reports, and related documentation.
• Assist in preparation of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) in accordance with AS9102 standards and internal quality procedures.
• Conduct receiving, in-process, and final inspections of machined components and assemblies based on engineering drawings and work orders.
• Perform routine verification and basic calibration checks of inspection and measuring tools to maintain accuracy and reliability.
• Identify and document non-conforming materials and coordinate corrective actions with production and quality teams.
• Inspect finished components for surface defects, discoloration, coating irregularities, and other quality concerns.
• Maintain workplace cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in accordance with company procedures.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to resolve inspection and quality-related issues.
