Job Duties:
• Read construction drawings, sketches and project instructions to determine the dimensions and specifications for steel stud framing work.
• Measure and mark wall, partition and ceiling layouts using measuring tapes, levels, lasers, squares and chalk lines according to project requirements.
• Measure, cut and prepare lightweight steel studs, tracks, channels and other framing components to the required dimensions.
• Assemble and install steel stud framing for walls, partitions, bulkheads and other building components according to drawings and specifications.
• Install tracks, studs, bracing, blocking and related framing components, ensuring proper spacing, alignment and secure fastening.
• Frame openings for doors, windows and other building penetrations and install related prefabricated framing components where required.
• Use drills, screw guns, saws, snips, fastening equipment and other hand and power tools required to complete steel framing work safely and accurately.
• Check completed framing using levels, squares and measuring tools to ensure components are plumb, level and properly aligned, while maintaining a safe and organized work area.
