Pastink Pork Ltd. near Taber, AB. requires 2 full-time Swine Technicians to perform the following duties on their pig farm:

Salary: $23.00 to $25.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 40 to 50 hours per week
Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, Day, Weekend
Starts as soon as possible

Job Requirements
Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Experience an asset
On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Work site environment: Hog and pig farming, Dusty, Hot, Noisy, Odours, Dirty
Work setting: Rural area, Public transportation is not available
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Large workload, Standing for extended periods
Personal suitability: Organized, Team player, Judgement, Quick learner

Job Duties
• Diagnose livestock health issues, Monitoring animal health
• Handling animals
• Perform livestock feeding, Feed and tend animals
• Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration
• Weaning
• Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns and pens, Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, Automated manure handling or storage system, Feeding and watering system
• Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
• Perform general farm duties
