Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Optometric Assistant /Ocular Hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate is professional, compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
Patient Care & Administrative Duties

• Welcome and check in patients.

• Schedule appointments and manage the clinic schedule.

• Maintain patient records and process referrals.

• Manage billing, insurance claims, and patient payments.

• Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional manner.

Pre-Examination Testing

• Perform preliminary diagnostic testing, including:

Visual field testing
Retinal imaging
OCT scans

• Assist with autorefractors and other diagnostic equipment.

Ocular Hygienist Duties

• Provide one-on-one dry eye assessments and treatments.

• Perform ZEST, iLUX, IPL, and Radio Frequency (RF) treatments.

• Prepare and sanitize the dry eye treatment room and equipment.

• Organize instruments and maintain treatment supplies.

• Explain procedures and answer patient questions.

• Review and discuss patients’ treatment options with the supervising optometrist.

Required languages: English

Education level: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Required skills: 2-3 YEARS, COMPLETION OF CULINARY TRAINING PROGRAM

Additional skills / Assets: Experience using dry eye treatment equipment, including IPL, iLUX, and Radio Frequency (RF) technology.
