Start Date:
As soon as possible

Work Setting:
– Residential construction
– Commercial construction
– Renovation projects
– Various client project sites within the normal service area

Duties:
1. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
2. Prepare layouts in accordance with building codes.
3. Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other building materials.
4. Install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, trim, and hardware.
5. Construct, renovate, and repair building frameworks and structures.
6. Schedule and coordinate work at construction sites.
7. Supervise and provide guidance to apprentices and labourers as required.
Estimate material requirements and project costs.

Transportation:
– Valid Class 5 driver’s licence required.
– Frequent travel between local job sites is required.

Working Conditions:
– Physically demanding work.
– Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling.
– Handling heavy materials.
– Standing, walking, and lifting throughout the workday.
– Working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
– Meeting project deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Education level: Secondary school graduation certificate

Required skills: Job Requirements Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of carpentry experience in residential and/or commercial construction. Equivalent experience will be considered.
