Position: Construction cost estimator
Number of Positions: 1

Experience requirement: 2 year as Construction cost estimator
Education requirement: Secondary (High) School Graduation Certificate
Language: English
Start Date: As soon as possible
Wage: $42.00/hour, 30 hours per week.

Job Duties:
• Reviewing architectural and engineering drawings to perform precise material takeoffs,
calculating the exact quantity, size, and type of cabinetry required for kitchens, bathrooms, and other spaces.
• Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates covering cabinetry, millwork, countertops,
hardware, and finishes, along with installation labour.
• Interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and site measurements to translate design intent into a buildable, priced package.
• Operate CADD and other computer software systems
• Analyzing project proposals to determine costs and prepare detailed estimates, then
communicating with the project team to clarify scope and details.
• Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present clients
• Project cash flow and financing requirements
• Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors
And subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
• Meeting with prospective customers on-site or in showroom settings to understand project scope and goals.
• Advise on tendering procedures
• Sourcing and pricing materials from suppliers, cabinet boxes, door/drawer fronts, hardware lines, countertop materials, dry wall and ceiling material.
• Tracking change orders as clients revise selections mid-project, and updating estimates
accordingly
• Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
• Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
• Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
