Job Description

The Toxicology Trainer is responsible for delivering, supervising, and continuously improving technical and GLP training for new and existing toxicology staff. This role plays a key part in ensuring high-quality animal work, regulatory compliance, staff competency, and adherence to ITR SOPs related to Toxicology, Animal Care, Health & Safety, and GLP.

Required languages: English

Education level: College or University degree in Animal Science / Animal Husbandry or equivalent scientific training.

Required skills: • Extensive hands on experience with laboratory animals, including rodents, dogs, mini-pigs and/or non human primates. • Strong background in animal procedures, dosing (SC, PO, IV, IM, IP), sample collection, clinical observations, necropsy, and colony management. • Previous experience acting as a senior technician, group leader, or informal trainer/mentor. • Good knowledge of SOPs related to: GLP , Animal Care and Welfare , Health and Safety and Toxicology operations • 5 to 10 years of experience working in regulated research or toxicology environments (CRO or academic research settings). • Ability to evaluate technical competency and provide constructive coaching. • Comfortable working with training documentation and electronic quality systems (Montrium or similar an asset). • Good communication skills, both verbal and written. • Strong organizational skills and ability to collaborate with management and training teams.
