About the Position
IQRA Islamic School is an independent Kindergarten to Grade 7 school in Surrey, British Columbia, offering an educational program that integrates the provincial curriculum with Arabic language and Islamic studies.
We are seeking a dedicated Elementary Arabic Language and Islamic Studies Teacher to teach Kindergarten to Grade 7 students. The successful candidate will report to the Principal.

Main Duties
• Teach Arabic Language and Islamic Studies to Kindergarten to Grade 7 students.
• Prepare and present course material and lessons in line with the approved curriculum, including lesson plans, classroom materials, and assignments.
• Develop and maintain Arabic Language and Islamic Studies course materials for Kindergarten to Grade 7.
• Prepare, administer, and mark assignments and assessments, and evaluate student progress.
• Prepare and maintain student progress reports.
• Identify students’ individual learning needs and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
• Communicate with parents, staff, and school administration regarding student progress and conduct.
• Participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional development activities.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in education with major in Arabic and Islamic studies or a related field.
• Valid British Columbia teacher certification, a Certificate of Qualification or an Independent School Teaching Certificate (ISTC), or eligibility to obtain an Independent School Teaching Certificate.
• Proficiency in Arabic (native or near native)
• Educational and Sound Knowledge of Islamic Studies.
