Position Details:

Job Title: Pharmacy Assistant
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
Work Location: On-site (1151 Sidney St, Suite 120, Canmore, AB, T1W 3G1)
Hours of Work: 30–40 hours per week
Wage: $37.00 per hour

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join our independent community pharmacy team. This role includes supporting non-sterile compounding activities, assisting with dispensing workflow, managing inventory, and delivering high-quality patient care in a collaborative environment.

Job Duties:

– Verify prescription information for completeness and accuracy prior to processing
– Enter and update patient and prescription data in pharmacy software systems
– Assist pharmacists with dispensing activities, including preparation and packaging of medications
– Support non-sterile compounding of medications, including oral solutions, creams, and ointments, following established procedures
– Maintain accurate compounding records, logs, and related documentation
– Ensure adherence to applicable standards, safety procedures, and best practices in all pharmacy tasks
– Maintain and organize prescription records and patient profiles in accordance with regulatory requirements
– Monitor and manage inventory levels of medications, compounding ingredients, and pharmacy supplies
– Track expiry dates, perform stock rotation, and assist with ordering and sourcing supplies
– Process claims and bill third-party insurance providers as required
– Clean, maintain, and properly handle pharmacy equipment and work areas, including compounding spaces
– Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment to support efficient workflow
– Assist with prescription intake, including receiving and organizing incoming prescriptions
– Provide courteous, professional, and knowledgeable assistance to patients and customers
– Respond to general pharmacy and front-store inquiries, contributing to a patient-focused environment
– Support overall workflow efficiency by organizing tasks and assisting team members as needed

Education, Certification and Experience Requirements:

– Minimum 5 years of pharmacy experience (community pharmacy preferred)
– Completion of a Pharmacy Assistant Diploma
– Completion of a Non-Sterile Compounding Certificate Program
