Cashier
Estevan Pro Wash Shell — Estevan, Saskatchewan

Estevan Pro Wash Shell (101151671 Saskatchewan Ltd.) is a Shell service station on Souris Avenue South (Highway 47) in Estevan, Saskatchewan, operating a gas bar, convenience store and car wash. The store is open seven days a week.
We are seeking a Cashier to serve customers and process payments at our store counter.

Working conditions
• Permanent, full-time position
• 30 to 40 hours per week
• $15.70 per hour ($24,492 to $32,656 per year)
• The hourly wage above is the full wage for the position. No commission, incentive pay, bonus or wage increment is offered.
• Overtime paid in accordance with The Saskatchewan Employment Act — 1.5 times the regular wage after 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week (32 hours in a week with a public holiday)
• Three weeks of paid vacation (vacation pay of 3/52 of wages), in accordance with The Saskatchewan Employment Act
• No group health, dental, disability or pension benefits are offered with this position at this time.

Main duties
• Greet customers and provide friendly, courteous service at the store counter
• Operate the electronic cash register and scan items with the optical price scanner to establish prices and total the payment required
• Receive and process payments for fuel, convenience store and car wash purchases by cash, debit card and credit card
• Issue receipts and change to customers
• Provide customers with information on store products, car wash services and current promotions
• Suggest additional items to customers at the point of sale
• Verify the age of customers with valid identification before selling lottery tickets and other age-restricted products
• Calculate the payments received during each shift and reconcile them with total sales
• Count the cash float at the start and end of each shift
• Stock shelves and coolers, and keep the counter and check-out area clean

Job requirements
• Completion of secondary school is required
• No previous experience is required; on-the-job training will be provided
• Previous cash-handling or customer service experience is an asset
• Proficiency in English (oral and written) is required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods, with attention to detail
