1. Position Overview:

Location: Edmonton, Alberta (T6P 1P6)
Work Location: On the road (frequent travel required)
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

2. Compensation and Schedule

Wage: $36.60 per hour
Hours: 40 to 60 hours per week
Schedule: Early morning, morning, day, evening, night, Shift work, weekends, flexible hours

3. Requirements

Language: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: No experience required (training provided)

4. Work Setting

Long-haul and short-haul trucking
Cross-border and international travel
Willingness to relocate (relocation costs covered by employer)

5. Key Responsibilities

Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
Plan and adjust routes using GPS and navigation systems
Load and unload goods
Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
Monitor vehicle condition (tires, brakes, lights, refrigeration systems)
Perform minor roadside repairs when necessary
Maintain accurate records (cargo, fuel, mileage, hours of service)
Communicate with dispatch and relay updates
Ensure cargo safety, including tarping

6. Credentials and Certifications

Experience with documentation such as:
Air Brakes Endorsement
Valid Class 1 / A driver’s licence
Bill of lading
Driver logbook
Inspection and maintenance reports
Trip reports

7. Equipment and Work Experience

Flatbed trucks
Refrigerated trucks
Straight trucks (4,600 kg+ / 10,000 lbs+ with 3+ axles)
Tractor-trailers

8. Work Conditions

Physically demanding
Handling loads up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
Extended periods of sitting
Attention to detail required
