Hours: 35-40 hrs/wk

Wages: $20.20/hr

Overtime Conditions: As per BC Provincial Standards

Job Duties:

Dig holes for good depth and ensure they meet space requirements.
Remove weak, dead, broken, and low growth plants
Water the plants considering factors like temperature, humidity, crop age and health.
Protect berries from birds and insects using appropriate methods like bird netting and insecticides.
Pruning the blueberries to stimulate growth of new shoots.
Apply sawdust like fir, hemlock to the bed surface to maintain mulch and suppress the weeds
Install trellis system to hold the branches in an upright position during harvesting.
Harvest blueberries using Berry scoop/ hand rake.
Load berries to the carts for transportation

Working Condition: Outdoors, wet/damp, rain/ shine, odours, hot/cold.
