Wage: Starting at $21.50 per hour, with tenure-based wage progression up to $24.75 per hour.
Bonus: Annual discretionary bonus of up to $1,250.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee all plant care activities in mother and vegetative rooms, including watering, pruning, defoliation, and plant training.
• Ensure mother plants remain healthy, pest-free, and within targeted growth parameters for consistent clone production.
• Coordinate with propagation staff to schedule and prepare clone cuts, ensuring accurate strain labeling and tracking.
• Manage plant spacing, topping schedules, and transplant timing to maintain optimal canopy density and root development.
• Monitor mother plant rotation schedules to prevent age-related decline and maintain vigorous stock.
• Conduct pH and EC testing of nutrient solutions and runoff to maintain ideal conditions for early plant development.
• Record and track irrigation volumes, dry-back rates, and feed EC to support crop steering and fertigation adjustments.
• Verify the cleanliness of irrigation lines, trays, and emitters, and support the Irrigation Supervisor with maintenance and calibration.
• Monitor and record temperature, humidity, CO2, and VPD levels in mother and vegetative rooms.
• Ensure Priva environmental systems maintain consistent environmental targets for propagation and vegetative growth.
• Identify and report environmental or equipment issues (e.g., lighting uniformity, airflow, humidity control) to management.
• Maintain detailed daily records on environmental readings, growth observations, and plant transitions.
• Lead and train cultivation technicians in proper cloning, pruning, and transplanting techniques.
• Supervise daily work assignments and ensure team members follow SOPs accurately.
• Complete required paperwork including batch tracking, mother plant inventory, clone logs, and environmental checklists.
• Provide feedback to the Cultivation Manager regarding plant performance, pest concerns, and workflow efficiency.
• Maintain strict biosecurity protocols to prevent cross-contamination between mother, veg, and flower areas.
• Oversee cleaning of trays, domes, tables, and tools according to facility sanitation SOPs.
• Ensure all activities comply with Health Canada’s Good Production Practices (GPP) and facility SOPs.
• Document all nutrient applications, IPM events, and cloning records for traceability and audit readiness.
• Promptly report any deviations from Standard Operating Procedures to Master Grower and/or Senior Management.
• Ensure safe work procedures are being followed and report hazards and unsafe work to the Master Grower, HR or Health of Security.
• Other duties as required.
Job Requirements
• 1+ years of experience working directly in commercial cannabis cultivation, with a focus on propagation, mothers, or vegetative plant care.
• Strong knowledge of cloning, plant nutrition, irrigation management, and environmental control.
• Proficient in pH and EC testing, data recording, and irrigation system operation.
• Familiarity with Priva, or similar environmental monitoring systems.
• Proficient in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Teams, and basic MS Excel.
• Proven leadership or mentoring experience within a cultivation environment.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in high-humidity environments and lift up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
• Lifting up to 55 lbs. from floor to waist.
• Lifting up to 30 lbs. from waist to shoulders, and above head.
• Lifting up to 20 lbs. above head.
• Bending, crouching, squatting, sitting, pushing, kneeling for extended periods and repeatedly throughout the workday.
• Climbing ladders as required.
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Working in indoor areas with varying temperature and humidity levels.
• Occasional outdoor work all year round.
• Don and doff full-body PPE; wearing full-body PPE at all times while working.
• Working in close proximity to cannabis plants, as well being in direct contact with cannabis plants, which can trigger allergic reactions.
• Working in an environment with a strong cannabis odour.
• Handling/working with chemicals and cleaning supplies.
