Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Gas Station Attendant to join our team at Rosthern Esso. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the fuel pumps, maintaining a clean and organized station, and handling basic transactions. This role involves assisting customers with fueling, addressing inquiries, and performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure a positive experience and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist customers with pump operation, including full-service fueling where required.
• Process payments accurately (cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payment systems).
• Maintain cleanliness of the fuel pump area, convenience store, restrooms, and parking lot.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the Manager immediately.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as cleaning fuel nozzles, checking oil levels, and refilling windshield washer fluid.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Knowledge of fuel pump operations and safety procedures is a plus but not required (training provided).
Compensation & Benefits
• Wage: $15.35 per hour.
• Overtime: $23.025 per hour (after 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week).
• Hours: 35 hours per week.
• Vacation: 3 weeks paid vacation per year OR 5.77% of wages earned.
• Statutory deductions (Federal Tax, Provincial Tax, CPP, EI) will be applied.
• Salary payable semi-monthly.
