Job Description

WELDER ASSEMBLER:
• Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications, manuals and processes.
• Knowledge and experience working in valve industry.
• Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts & products; specialize in custom fabrication; use gas & spot-welding machine.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten are welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW).
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment. Operate brazing and soldering equipment.
• Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines.
• Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers.
• Assemble mechanical parts into subassemblies; Assemble, fit and install prefabricated parts to form subassemblies or finished products.
• Assemble or connect electrical components, position, align and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.

• Connect cables, tubes and wires, fasten parts together using fastening and joining equipment; operate small cranes to transport or position larger parts, inspect finished products for proper functioning.
• Installation of actuators and control devices such as a pneumatic cylinder, positioner, solenoid valves and limit switch, calibrating of designated product lines, repairs and conducting testing of products per our ISO 9001 quality standards; prepare production orders for shipping.
• Assist in inventory control through physical counts and relocation, maintains adequate inventory of spare parts.
• Check mechanical assemblies and subassemblies for alignment and proper functioning, test and check electrical assemblies and wiring for proper connection, make minor adjustments and repairs.

Required languages: English

Education level: High School and completion of a 3 year apprenticeship program or a combination of over 3 years of work experience in the trade and some college or industry courses in welding
