Job Description

We are looking for a talented and experienced Cook to join our team at Fifty’s Diner in North Bay, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team in high pace environment.He/she should also be able to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.
Job Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook breakfasts and Coffee/Tea or hot beverages as per customer request.
• Prepare and cook high quality, great tasting breakfast, lunch and meals or Requested dishes according to the recipes or personal judgment and experience.
• Oversee kitchen operations includes Setting up workstations with ingredients and cooking equipment
• Plan and schedule Pre-preparation for the day and next day events.
• Maintain the hygienic kitchen and serving area includes cleaning of workstation and serving area.
Plan menus, Explore the new recipes, determine size of food portions,estimate food requirements and costs,
• Monitor stocks and order supplies and maintain records.
• Train workers, supervise and schedule assistants.

Required languages: English

Education level: Graduate in any discipline or equivalent Certification

Required skills: The ability to work independently and as part of a team in high paced environment

Additional skills / Assets: Basic knowledge of computer in MS office, Internet access and socialmedia will be considered as asset.
