Job Description:

Knox Mountain Market is a traditional, old-time convenience store. Established in 1940, Knox Mountain offers a variety of goods for customer convenience, as well as a fully serviced food counter with made-to-order sub sandwiches, wraps, poutine and more. Customer satisfaction is our number one commitment. Knox Mountain Market is looking for a Food Counter Attendant who can efficiently assist in the daily operations of our food counter.

Main Duties include:

• Take customers’ orders
• Wash, peel, slice and trim vegetables both by hand and electric appliances
• Use deep fryer, grill, oven, dispensers and other equipment to prepare fast food items such as
sandwiches, hamburgers, fries, salads, ice cream dishes, milkshakes and other beverages
• Portion, assemble, and wrap food, and package take-out food
• Use equipment to prepare beverages
• Serve customers at counters
• Stock refrigerators and keep records of the quantities of food used
• May receive payment for food items purchased
• Greeting customers as they arrive and making them feel welcome
• Answering questions about the menu, and making note of special requests, if required
• Communicating food and drink orders to other staff
• Assembling and packaging takeaway orders
• Maintaining cleanliness standards by keeping the counters, worktops, and utensils clean
• Replenishing food supplies when required
• Presenting customers with the bill and processing payments

Employment Requirements:

• Previous experience in the field preferred
