About Cookstown Greens

Cookstown Greens is a working vegetable farm in Thornton, Ontario, growing a wide range of crops including asparagus, carrots, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, and microgreens. We’re looking for a dependable General Labourer to join our production team for the season.

What You’ll Do

Hand-harvest vegetables and pick seedlings
Grade fruits and vegetables by size, shape, colour, and volume to meet market standards
Sort and pack fruits and vegetables for market
Weed and maintain crop areas
Clean greenhouses and general work areas
Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
Inspect product for quality and market readiness
Crops You’ll Work With

Asparagus, carrots, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, other vegetables, and microgreens

Equipment

Experience with vegetable harvesters and hand tools is an asset.

What We’re Looking For

1 to 2 years of relevant experience
English language ability
No formal degree/diploma required
Valid driver’s licence and own transportation required — public transit is not available at this location
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including wet, hot, and cold/refrigerated environments
Able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
Able to bend, crouch, and kneel regularly
Able to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Must supply own steel-toed safety boots

Work Environment
