We are looking for a Cabinetmakers Foreman/ Woman to join our team.

Job Duties:
1. Supervise and coordinate:
– the work of cabinetmakers involved in the fabrication, assembly, finishing, and installation of custom cabinetry, millwork, and wood fixtures across residential, commercial, and institutional projects, including kitchens, built-in closets, vanities, reception counters, and furniture.
– personnel responsible for fitting cabinetry and completing interior wood finishes, ensuring precise measurements, correct positioning, and full compliance with design plans and project specifications;
– the activities of apprentices, helpers, and labourers assisting with manufacturing, finishing, packaging, and installation duties.
– all stages of production such as cutting, edging, laminating, veneering, sanding, assembly, and finishing to maintain high-quality standards and conformity with design requirements;
– delivery and installation schedules to ensure products are transported securely and installed within required timeframes.

2. Use drawings, blueprints, and production timelines to structure workflow, set priorities, and ensure projects are completed within established deadlines.
3. Estimate costs and materials, requisition materials including lumber, hardware, veneers, laminates, adhesives, and finishing supplies, help maintaining organized inventory systems and proper storage of tools and materials.
4. Coordinate shop manufacturing with on-site installation teams, and collaborate with project managers, designers, and other trades to maintain smooth project progression.
5. Inspect completed cabinetry and millwork to verify workmanship, precision, and finish prior to delivery or installation, and ensure any deficiencies are corrected.
6. Identify and address challenges such as delays, shortages, inconsistencies in design, or installation issues, and introduce solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency.
7. Provide training and guidance to cabinetmakers, apprentices, and support staff on safe machinery use, production techniques, installation methods, and quality standards, or coordinate external training when required.
8. Advise on personnel actions such as hiring, promotions, disciplinary measures, and performance improvements based on employee productivity and skill level.
9. Ensure proper operation of equipment, adherence to personal protective equipment requirements, safe handling of materials, and overall compliance with workplace safety regulations.
10. Prepare plans, schedules, and reports related to completed and ongoing projects.

Type of Employment: Full-time – Permanent
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: $41 hourly, 35-40 hours per week
Important Information:
Flexibility on schedule is required as some days will start earlier, and others finish later depending on the business needs. Overtime and work on weekends may be required.

Education level: High School

Required skills:  Minimum 5 years of experience in cabinet making and other wooden fixtures.  Experience in a supervising role.  Experience in training apprentices.  Knowledge of carpentry the kitchen, millwork industry.  Strong skills in blueprint reading and understanding of schematics.  Solid understanding of cabinetry design, construction, and layouts (kitchens, bars, vanities and custom millwork, etc.).  Proficiency in SketchUp and Mozaik  Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing environment.  Ability to analyze data and utilize manufacturing software for reporting purposes.  Ability to support design development, shop drawings, and revisions  Ability to supervise others effectively while fostering a collaborative team environment.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams.  Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise.  Ability to handle up to 25 kg(50 lbs).  Knowledge of workplace safety and quality standards.  Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.  Ability to manage multiple priorities.  Ability to work independently.
