The Kitchen Technician has been a proudly locally owned and operated business since its inception in 1999. We provide services all over The Greater Victoria, including Sooke.

After eighteen years of satisfied customers on Vancouver Island, The Kitchen Technician continues to grow and evolve. We prove ourselves to our customers consistently with a keen ability to create custom millwork to fit a variety of tastes and a strong focus on our expertise in kitchen and bathroom refacing.

We have built a reputation of quality workmanship coupled with trusted advice and prompt, reliable service. We work hard to maintain our membership with the Better Business Bureau.

Job responsibilities are listed below:

Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made, or prepare specifications
Mark outlines or dimensions of parts on wood
Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, and use hand tools to cut, shape and form parts and components
Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit using glue and clamps and reinforce joints using nails, screws or other fasteners
Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products
May estimate amount, type and cost of materials required.
Install, repair and service interior or exterior prefabricated products

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
Completion of secondary school;
Minimum 3 year Cabinetmaking experience or similar
Able to communicate in English
Ability to work under pressure, team player, Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads
Willing to travel for to client’s location and has a valid driver’s license or equivalent
Able to lift Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Contract length: 24 months Full Time
Wage: CAD $36.60 to $37.60 per hour; 40 hours per week
