Job Summary:
We are a family in Brackendale, British Columbia seeking a reliable, patient, and well-organized Home Child Care Provider to work in our private home. The candidate must be flexible and able to manage multiple tasks, strong in communication and interpersonal skills, and committed to creating a positive, safe, and engaging environment for children. This is a physically active role in a non-smoking, scent-free household.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
– Provide attentive supervision and care for children in the employer’s home
– Change diapers and assist with toilet training, personal hygiene, and dressing
– Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks
– Organize and lead age‑appropriate activities, games, crafts, and outdoor play
– Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development through play
– Maintain routines including rest periods, hygiene, and personal care
– Assist with homework and educational activities
– Accompany children to/from school, appointments, and recreational activities using employer-provided transportation if required
– Perform light housekeeping and keep play areas tidy
– Administer emergency first aid and CPR as needed
– Follow parents’ directions on discipline, routines, and child development goals
– Maintain records of daily activities, meals, and any relevant health information if requested

Skills Requirements
Education: Completion of secondary school or equivalent is required. Completion of an Early Childhood Education program is desirable.
Work Experience: At least one year of verifiable experience as a child care provider or nanny in a private home setting is required
Skills/Licensing:
– Basic knowledge of Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR is required;
– Must have the physical ability to safely lift, bend, carry, and supervise young children, and perform a physically active role involving repetitive tasks as required in a home child care setting.
– Must be able to provide written references from previous child care, nanny, or household employment upon request.
– Must be able to provide a police clearance and vulnerable sector check upon request.
– Must have a valid BC driver’s licence.
