KLEAN-RITE DKI, in Grande Prairie, Alberta is now hiring a Permanent Full-Time Carpenter Helper position.

Duties Includes:
• Assist with on-site emergency response, including sewer extraction, fire damage cleanup, mold remediation and water damage remediation.
• Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, catwalk, barricades and other required forms on construction sites.
• Assist tradespersons such as carpenters in construction activities.
• Assist in demolishing buildings using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean and pile salvaged materials. Prepare areas for Rebuilding phase of construction.
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment.
• Operate tools and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
• Support rebuild tasks including framing, drywall installation and finishing, painting, flooring and finishing carpentry work.
• Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants and remove asbestos and other hazardous materials.
• Follow instructions and project plans provided by the Project Manager and Journeyman Carpenter.
• Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.

Wages and Benefits: Hourly wages dependent on experience of $25.00 for 32 to 40 hours work per week. Group Health and Dental Benefits.

Work Experience: Some experience as a construction labourer or carpenter’s helper is required. On-the-job training is provided. Must have a strong command in English language both in oral and written communication.

Education: Some High School Education maybe required but not necessary.

Other Qualifications and Skills: Applicants should have proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and systems.

Physical ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs.

Valid class 5 driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
