Zealand Farm Ltd. from Ponoka, AB requires 2 fulltime General Farm Worker – Livestock to perform the following duties:

Job details
Barn Locations: NE30-42-24-W4, E1/2 4-42-25-W4, NW28-42-24-W4 & NE11-42-24-W4, Ponoka County, Alberta T4J 1R1
Salary: $18.34 hourly / 40-50 hours per week
Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, Morning, Night, Day, Weekend, Overtime required
Starts as soon as possible

Job Requirements
Languages: English
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Experience an asset
On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Work site environment: Broiler and other meat-type chicken production, Chicken farming, Layer poultry farming, Hot, Noisy, Odours, Dirty
Work setting: Rural area
Equipment and machinery experience: Feeding and watering system, Farm truck
Area of specialization: Poultry
Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is not available
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently, Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Large workload, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Job Duties
• Disinfect pens, barns or poultry houses
• Handling animals
• Monitoring animal health
• Perform livestock feeding
• Treat livestock health issues
• Feed and tend animals
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
• Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
• Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens
• Perform general farm duties
• Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops
