Western Auto Group LTD is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Red Seal Powersports Technician (Shop Lead) to join our growing team.This is a leadership role within the service department, responsible not only for advanced diagnostics and repairs but also for supporting junior technicians, maintaining workflow efficiency, and upholding high service standards across the shop.Important: Applications without significant powersports experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Perform advanced diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on powersports vehicles
Lead daily shop operations alongside management
Support, mentor, and guide junior technicians and apprentices
Ensure quality control on completed repairs and service work
Assist in workflow management and prioritization of jobs
Maintain high standards for safety, efficiency, and workmanship
Communicate effectively with service advisors and management regarding job status and timelines
Qualifications & Requirements
Red Seal Certification (required)
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Powersports Technician in a professional dealership or commercial repair facility
Strong experience working with:
ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, and snowmobiles
Familiarity with major brands:
Polaris, Can-Am, Yamaha, Honda, and similar
Advanced knowledge of:
Engine diagnostics and rebuilding
Electrical systems and troubleshooting
Suspension and braking systems
Experience using modern diagnostic tools and software
Valid Class 5 driver’s license (or equivalent)
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment
