Job Description

The Bulldog Hotel & Grand Café is looking for two (2) Full-Time Chefs (NOC 62200)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 30-40 hours per week, $25.00/hour, plus tips and overtime as applicable.
Job Description:
• Prepare and execute all menu items in accordance with established recipes, portion sizes, cooking methods, and presentation standards
• Ensure all food products are consistently prepared and served at the highest quality level
• Prepare meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using grills, ovens, broilers, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
• Portion, season, marinate, batter, and cook food items according to specifications
• Maintain full accountability for the quality, consistency, and presentation of all dishes
• Follow standard plate presentation and garnish requirements
• Adhere to all kitchen policies, procedures, and food safety standards
• Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at assigned stations to support efficient service
• Handle, store, label, and rotate all food products in accordance with food safety guidelines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation, including all equipment and surfaces
• Assist with general food preparation during off-peak periods as required
• Support team members during service and closing duties
• Complete all station closing procedures and ensure the kitchen is left clean and orderly
• Attend scheduled staff meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Job Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years of proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a line cook in a restaurant setting
• Food Safe Certification
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
• Familiarity with meal preparation and food industry best practices
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Language in the workplace is English
