Scott Manor Residence is a private 24-hour care residence providing care for adults and seniors with barriers, including physical, mental health and dual diagnosis. We provide long and short-term care. Staff includes health care aides and caregivers.

Type of Position: Permanent, full time

Job Duties:

• Supervise patients’ exercise routines
• Assist in some personal hygiene (bathing, dressing and grooming)
• Assist in recreational activities and perform other duties related to residents’ daily living & care
• Administer first aid in emergency situations
• Supervise building emergency evacuation
• Accompany residents on outside recreational activities and perform other duties related to resident care and comfort
• Prepare & serve nutritious meals & snacks to residents
• Make beds and maintain patients’ room
• Maintain inventory of supplies, perform housekeeping & cleaning duties

Residents include:

Adults, Convalescent, Elderly, Females, Males, Ages 45 years and over, Persons with a disability, Persons with an intellectual disability, Persons with mental health disabilities, Persons with physical disabilities

Skills Required:

• 1 year of work experience as a Caregiver
• A 6 month in-class caregiver training course is considered an asset
• Initiative, Flexibility, Dependability, Judgement, Reliability

Education & Credentials:

• Secondary school or equivalent experience is required
• First Aid Certificate is considered an asset
• CPR Certificate is considered an asset
• Food Handler Certificate is considered an asset
• Narcotics & Controlled Substances Certificate is considered an asset
• Criminal Record Check

Employment Conditions: On call, Overtime, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Shift, Weekend, Night, Flexible hours, to be determined

Wage and number of hours: $23.00 per hour, 30-40 hours per week plus overtime, when necessary, two days off per week (To be determined)
