Port Hill Farm Inc. in Tyne Valley, PEI is looking for 3 Dairy Farm Workers to join them as soon as possible.

Work location: 160 Green Park Road, Tyne Valley RR #1, PEI C0B 2C0
Wage: $19. To $21. (depending on experience)
Term: full/time, permanent basis
Hours: min. 30 to 35 per week

Job Requirements:

• high school graduation would be an asset but not required.
• basic farm knowledge an asset.
• ability to work under pressure and in all weather conditions.
• ability to perform physically demanding work-standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling and climbing.

Duties include:

• Assist in milking cows while ensuring livestock remain calm and comfortable so cattle continue to produce maximum quantities of milk.
• Assist in monitoring cows for signs of potential disease to ensure that all livestock remain in optimum health and produce high-quality milk.
• Review the pens, buildings and other areas to ensure the areas remain hygienic to reduce the risk of injury and disease to the cattle and farm workers.
• Provide food and water to cattle and ensure that supplies remain well stocked so that the livestock never go hungry.
• Assist in administering medications, vaccinations and other medical care and coordinate with veterinarians as needed.
• Use tools to move feed, animals and other equipment to the appropriate areas on the farm in an efficient manner
