Work setting: On site (work must be completed at the physical location; no remote option)

Tasks:

Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using GPS or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
Drive lighter, special purpose trucks
Load and unload goods
Obtain special permits and other documents requied to transport cargo on international routes
Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Receive and relay information to central dispatch
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
Tarp and ensure safety and security of cargo

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Air Brakes Endorsement, Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A)

Documentation knowledge: Bill of lading, Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads, Sitting for long periods

Personal suitability: Judgement, Organized, Reliability, Team player
