Job Description

– Position: Restaurant Manager (Full-time, Permanent)
– Vacancy: 1
– Wage: $37.00 + Vacation fee (4% of gross salary)
– Work Hours: 30 hours per week
– Work location: #203-6750 Island Hwy, Nanaimo, BC V9V 1S3

++Job Duties:
– Analyze budget to boost and maintain the restaurant’s profits
– Develop budget to determine cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen and cleaning supplies
– Track revenues to control labour cost
– Monitor staff performance and recruit, train and supervise staff
– Plan and organize daily operations
– Adjust staff work schedules
– Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
– Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms
– Organize and maintain inventory
– Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations are followed
– Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
– Work with clients for catering arrangements or use of facilities
– Provide quality customer service and coordinate events
– Handle and resolve customers’ complaints or concerns

++Requirements:
– Completion of a college in food service administration, hotel and restaurant management or related (or equivalent experience)
– Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in the hospitality industry is required (Management experience is considered an asset)
– Excellent communication skills in English is required
