We are seeking energetic and enthusiastic Building Service Workers to join our team. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, performing minor repairs and assisting with set-ups and takedowns across recreation facilities, including pools, community centres and arenas.

DOCUMENTATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Building Service Worker Certificate
• WHMIS certificate
• Pool Operator certification is considered an asset
• Must be able to successfully pass and maintain a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Detail oriented and conscientious about the quality of your work
• Self-motivated and proactive; can work with minimal supervision
• Knowledgeable in, and able to perform routine and minor building repair and maintenance tasks
• Experience with performing cleaning and janitorial tasks before, during and after facility events
• Skilled in the use and care of cleaning maintenance equipment
• Ability to manually life and carry materials, goods and equipment under 23kg
• Ability to lift and move furniture and equipment and perform set ups and take downs for program activities
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Able to use Microsoft applications such as outlook, for various tasks
• Experience performing major maintenance tasks typically found in large-scale recreation facilities
• Flexible and available to assist with immediate and emergent coverage requirements

AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
• Candidates must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, afternoons, evenings and overnight shifts
• Work locations may vary and include pools, community centres and arenas
• Shifts may vary in length based on operational needs (typically 4-8 hours)
• Candidates must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and statutory holidays
• Candidates must submit copies of certificates to be considered
