Job Description
Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate transportation operations.
Establish transportation service rates, key performance indicators (KPIs), and operational targets.
Prepare performance and operational reports for senior management.
Coordinate shipping documentation and oversee scheduling, dispatching, and shipment tracking.
Recruit, train, supervise, and assign staff involved in shipping, receiving, warehousing, distribution, and inventory control.
Negotiate service agreements and preferential rates with carriers, warehouse operators, and insurance providers.
Manage end-to-end logistics operations, including order processing, carrier coordination, shipment setup, pickup scheduling, dispatch, and tracking.
Develop, manage, and control departmental budgets.
Oversee transportation and warehousing activities, including route planning, fleet management, dispatch operations, and workforce coordination.
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures, including safety standards and compliance with federal and provincial regulations (e.g., Transportation of Dangerous Goods).
Monitor departmental performance and recommend operational improvements to enhance efficiency and service levels.
Develop and implement procedures for transportation, storage, and distribution activities.
Required languages: English, French and Spanish is an asset
Education level: Masters Degree in in Management
Required skills: Ability to work under pressure, organized, attention to detail, proactive, punctual.
