We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to join the Mission Bottle Depot team.

Wage: $44.72 per hour (Overtime rate 1.5 times the regular wage after working 40 hours per week and/or 8 hours per day)
Hours: 30–40 hours per week
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Benefit: 10 days paid vacation or 4 % vacation fee
Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Description:
As the Assistant Manager, you will assist Retail Store Manager, in all aspects of our bottle depot operations in Mission, BC. You’ll be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining operational efficiency, and driving team performance. Your strategic eye for inventory management, commitment to safety and environmental standards, and strong leadership skills will help Mission Bottle Depot continue to deliver reliable recycling services to our community.

Key Responsibilities:
• Directing, planning and controlling all daily depot operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Evaluating operational workflows and implement improvements to optimize throughput.
• Determining which merchandise and services to offer, including pricing and promotional strategies.
• Locating, selecting and procuring inventory to meet customer demand and sustainability goals.
• Assessing staffing requirements; recruit, hire, train and supervise both staff and volunteers.
• Assigning duties, developing work schedules and conducting performance reviews.
• Resolving operational issues promptly—handling customer requests, complaints and supply shortages.

Requirements:
• Completion of a College education or equivalent work experience
• At least 2-3 years of experience directly related to increasing levels of responsibility in retail service management are required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
