Description:- At Melville Country Inn, we are looking for a fulltime permanent Cook, Must be able to work morning, evening and weekend shifts. May need to work independently.
Job Duties:
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
• Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers.
• Prepares foods to the specifications of the customers.
• Seasons food according to recipes or restaurant needs
• Order ingredients and spices as needed
• Operates various kitchen appliance such as a blender, oven, grill, or stand mixer
• Portions, arranges, and garnishes food based on customer preference
• Assists other cooks during the food assembly process
• Oversee kitchen operations.
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
• Perform kitchen opening and closing duties
• Offers a creative menu to compete with other local restaurants
• May clean kitchen and work area.
• May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies.
• May hire and train kitchen staff.
• To assist the Chef with his duties.
