Senior Hairstylist

Location: Toronto, ON
Salary: $36.00 hourly for 30 hours per week

Qualifications:
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required;
Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience is required;
3 years to less than 5 years of experience as a hairstylist is required;
Ontario Hairstylist Licence is required;
Experience in permanents including Japanese hair straightening and digital permanent is an asset.

Job duties:
Hair Colouring Duties:
Highlights; Bleach; Dyes/tints; Ombre; Balayage

Hair Styling Duties:
Permanents (including Japanese hair straightening and digital permanent); Iron waving/curling; Roller setting; Blow drying; Hair braiding; Updo

Hairstylist Specific Duties:
Suggest hair style compatible with client’s physical features or determine style from client’s instructions and preferences; Cut, trim, taper hair with scissors and clippers; Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair; Apply bleach, tints, and dyes

Additional Duties:
Shampoo customers’ hair; Perform receptionist duties; Maintain and order supplies; Book appointments; Teach/train assistants and/or newly hired hairstylists in duties and techniques as necessary
