Job Description
++We serve various fusion Korean food as well as drinks, desserts etc. We are looking for passionate professional new Chefs for our kitchen.
– Job title: Chef
– Available vacancy: 2
– Wage: $36.6 per hour + vacation fee (4% of gross salary)
– Work Condition: 30 hours per week, (Full-time, Permanent)
– Location: 6367 Hammond Bay Road, Nanaimo, BC V9T 5Y1
++Requirements:
– Completion of Secondary school and a college diploma or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years (or equivalent experience)
– Minimum 5 years of experience as a cook/chef OR the equivalent in both experience and training (e.g., graduation from an accredited culinary arts program), and Japanese cooking experience is an asset
– English is required
++Main duties:
– Estimate food requirements and costs of food, kitchen maintenance and labour
– Develop new and creative recipes, seasonal dishes, cost-effective menus, and special offerings
– Ensure food quality in presentation and production
– Maintain and ensure sanitation standards throughout the kitchen to comply with Provincial regulations
– Plan menu, determine the size of food portions to decrease waste and increase sales
– Supervise activities of sous-chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers
– Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to the cooking staff
– Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
– Take part in recruiting and hire kitchen staff
