Telecommunication Line Technician

Salary: $23.00 hourly / 30 to 40 hours per week, Permanent, Full-time, Starts as soon as possible
Languages: English
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Work site environment: Outdoors, At heights
Work setting: Installation, Maintenance, On-site customer service, Repair, Telecommunications company
Tasks
• Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment
• Repair cable signals
• Test equipment to locate transmission faults
• Complete and maintain test and service reports
• Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures
• Connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets
• Splice, join and connect wires
Credentials: Certificates – Working at heights training
Experience and specialization: Coaxial line, Fibre optics, Aerial and underground cable lines
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Transportation/travel information: Valid driver’s licence, Willing to travel
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail, Repetitive tasks, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, physically demanding, manual dexterity
