Drost Farms Ltd. requires 1 Farm Supervisor to provide the following duties:

Location: 144072 Range Road 142, Rolling Hills, AB T0J 2S0/ On site
Salary: $27.00 hour for 40 to 50 hours per week
Vacancies: 1 Vacancy
Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time 40 hour/week
Start date: As soon as possible
Employment conditions: Morning, Day, Overtime required

Tasks:
• Supervise farm workers involved in harvesting, sorting and packing vegetables
• Assigned daily tasks to ensure efficient workflow during harvesting and packing operations
• Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots
• Organize tasks to accomplish the work
• Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
• Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
• Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
• Maintain quality control and production records
• Supervise and oversee crop operations
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
• Perform general farm duties
• Oversee safety of operations
• Cut agricultural crops.
• Package products
• Prepare production and other reports

Job requirements
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
Work Setting: Rural area
Work Site environment: Fruit and vegetable combination farming, Other miscellaneous crop farming
Supervision: 3-4 people (may vary during peak season)
Type of Crops: Carrots and Red beets
Area of Specialization: Agricultural crop service
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding, combination of sitting, standing, walking.
Personal suitability: Organized, team player.
