The Fish Processing Labourer supports daily production operations within the fish processing plant by performing general labour and handling tasks. This role assists processing line workers and ensures that production areas remain clean, organized, and operating efficiently while meeting food safety and quality standards.

Required skills: We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team in a fish processing plant. In this role, you will assist processing line workers by handling, moving, and preparing fish products, as well as loading and unloading raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products. You will also be responsible for sorting, packing, stacking, and transferring products throughout the plant, maintaining clean and sanitized work areas, equipment, and processing surfaces, and removing waste and by-products in accordance with sanitation procedures. All employees are expected to follow food safety, quality assurance, and workplace safety policies, use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, and perform other general labour duties as assigned by the supervisor. The position operates in a fast-paced fish processing environment where cold, hot, wet, and damp conditions may be present. Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime, depending on operational needs. Employees should be prepared to stand and walk for extended periods, perform repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs, with frequent hand and arm movements.

Additional skills / Assets: No formal education is required, and while previous experience in food processing, manufacturing, or general labour is an asset, it is not mandatory. Candidates should be dependable, punctual, able to follow instructions, and work well in a team environment. The role involves repetitive and physically demanding tasks, so a willingness to engage in such work is essential.
