Columbus Meat Market Ltd is looking for a Wholesale Buyer to join the team.

Position: Wholesale Buyer (Permanent)
Employer: Columbus Meat Market Ltd
Working Address: 1310 Nanaimo Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, V5L 4T6
Wage: $38.00/hr (Overtime pay to be paid at 1.5 regular wage after 8 hrs per day and/or after 40 hrs per week.)
Working Hours: 30-40 hours/wk (full-time)
Benefits: 4% vacation fee or 10 days paid vacation

Job Duties:
• Purchase merchandise for resale in retail/wholesale setting.
• Assess business needs to determine the type and quantity of products required.
• Research market trends through reports, trade publications, sales materials, and industry events
• Select products that best meet the organization’s requirements.
• Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, discounts, credit terms, and shipping arrangements.
• Manage inventory distribution and ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• May supervise and guide other retail buyers.

Qualification:
• Completion of a College/CEGEP in business, marketing or a related program is required.
• 2-3 years of previous work experience in retail or wholesale establishments is required.
• Ability to communicate in English is required.
