Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled estimator/draftsman to join our millwork shop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and managing shop drawings, preparing estimates, and supporting our drafting and construction teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations
• Develop and prepare design sketches
• Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets
• Check and verify design drawings to ensure they conform to specifications and design data
• Write technical reports
• Prepare contracts and tender documents
• Prepare construction specifications, costs, and material estimates
• Supervise and train other technologists, technicians, and drafters
• Develop and prepare engineering drawings, plans, diagrams, or layouts from sketches
• Operate computer-assisted drafting equipment or conventional drafting stations
Qualifications
• College degree in a related field preferred
• 1–2 years of relevant work experience
• Proficiency in CAD software and drafting principles
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to write technical reports and prepare construction documents
• Experience supervising or training others is a plus
Compensation and Hours
• Wage: $27.00 per hour
• Hours: 40 hours per week (full-time position)
