BC Assessment (BCA) is currently looking for a permanent Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our People division in the Victoria office.

We are on the lookout for someone with expertise in full-cycle recruitment who can confidently guide hiring managers on best practices and help them make informed selection decisions. What you’ll get to do

Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Specialist works collaboratively with hiring managers on their recruitment needs. This role leads full-cycle recruitment, using proactive sourcing strategies and assessment techniques to attract and evaluate diverse talent. This position is critical in building a strong employer brand while driving impactful strategies to encourage diversity and inclusion in all of our hiring practices. As the Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will also:

Advise managers on strategic hiring practices and prepare recruitment timelines, job postings and marketing/sourcing strategies.

Manage full-cycle recruitment with a focus on, diversity, accessibility and Indigenous-focused employer branding.

Provide guidance on recruitment policies, procedures, and career development opportunities.

Ensure compliance with recruitment guidelines and collective agreements.

Utilize Workday (our HRIS system) to manage recruitment activities and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Promote our employer brand through career fairs, partnerships, sponsorships, and outreach to post-secondary institutions.

Research recruitment best practices; and applies innovative approaches to ensure recruitment activities are aligned with BCA’s mission and goals.

This position is excluded from the bargaining unit.

Location: Victoria, BC
Compensation: $79,859 – $97,634
Competition Close Date: Friday, June 27th @ 11:59PM (PST)

The salary range provided is based on our current Management salary structure. The successful candidate’s placement will consider qualifications, experience, market norms, and internal equity. The typical recruitment range spans from the minimum ($79,859) to the mid-range ($93,168), with the potential to advance to the maximum through performance-based increases.

What you bring to the team

Education

University degree or diploma in Human Resources, Labour Relations or other related area; or

Post-secondary certificate in Human Resources, Labour Relations or other related area may be considered.

Experience

Two years related experience (with degree), preferably in a unionized environment in recruitment or employment services; or

Four years related experience (with diploma), preferably in a unionized environment in recruitment or employment services; or

Five years related experience (with certificate), preferably in a unionized environment in recruitment or employment services.

Demonstrated success delivering service in a client-focused environment.

Experience working with and/or for Indigenous communities and organizations is preferred.

Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
