Position: Home Support Worker
Location: Markham, Ontario (private household)
Start Date: July 6, 2026
Wage: $21.00 per hour
Hours: 40 – 44 hours per week, full-time, permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday, weekends needed if available
Work Setting: Employer’s private home
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Caregiver/Home Support Worker to provide care and daily assistance to an elderly family member (my mother) in a private household in Markham. The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, and committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide care, support, and daily assistance to my mother
• Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals according to her needs
• Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
• Support her with medication reminders and ensure medications are taken as directed
• Perform general housekeeping duties such as laundry, washing dishes, ironing clothes, cleaning floors, bathroom cleaning, and maintaining a clean and safe home environment
• Ensure her comfort, safety, and well being at all times
Employment Requirements
• Completion of secondary school
• At least 1 year of related experience or caregiver training
• Ability to communicate in English
• Ability to work independently and follow care instructions
• Physically capable of performing household and caregiving tasks
Additional Information

• Must be comfortable providing personal care to an elderly individual
Additional Skills / Assets
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe home environment
• Experience preparing nutritious meals and accommodating dietary needs
• Ability to handle household equipment such as vacuums, irons, and laundry machines
• Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• CPR/First Aid certification (an asset but not required)
• Previous experience caring for seniors or individuals with medical needs is an advantage
