JOB DETAILS
Workplace information:
• On the road – Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee.
• In and around Alberta

Salary: $32.00 to $35.40 hourly (To be negotiated) for 30 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time

Employment conditions: Day, Evening, Weekend, Morning

Start date: Starts as soon as possible

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: Will train and 1 to 2 years previous experience as concrete labourer is required.
Work site environment: Dusty, Noisy, Outdoors, Wet/damp

Specific Tasks/Responsibilities:
• Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials.
• Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
• Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement.
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete.
• Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification.
• Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
• Instruct apprentices.
• Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures.
• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces.
• Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces.
• Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALIZATION
Type of materials: Colours and sealers, Light weight concrete, Reinforcing membrane and protective covering

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Attention to detail, Sound discrimination, Standing for extended periods

Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses/goggles, Gloves
