Job Title: Rebar Installer (Ironworker)

Position Type: Full time, Permanent
Hours: 35 to 40 per week
Location: 402- 218 Export Blvd, Mississauga, ON L5S 1Y4
Start Date: As soon as possible
Wage: $42.50

Qualification and requirement:
• Completion of secondary school is required
• 7 Months to less than one year of experience is required.
• Ability to communicate, read and write in English is must.
• Familiarity with welding tools and procedures
• Must be organized and team oriented
• Ability to follow instructions and should have attention to details
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet project deadlines
• Familiarity with engineering blueprints and schematics
• Ability to handle physical load

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• interpret construction drawings and specifications to accurately plan and lay out formwork and slab installations.
• Unload, organize, and stage materials such as cribbing, steel reinforcement, and precast components for efficient on-site use.
• Assemble and install temporary structures including scaffolding, formwork, and hoisting systems
• Place, position, and secure rebar and wire mesh within forms to reinforce concrete elements before pouring.
• Install architectural and structural metalwork including handrails, stair systems, access doors, and other embedded features.
• Inspect formwork, reinforcements, and final concrete work for structural integrity, defects, and compliance with specifications.
• Assist in the safe dismantling and removal of formwork systems, temporary structures, and equipment post-construction.
• Direct crane and equipment operators to safely position materials like form panels, rebar, and concrete slabs in alignment with layout plans.
• Installs spacers, chairs, and supports to hold rebar in position and maintain proper concrete cover.
• Place and secure reinforcing steel and mesh within concrete forms, ensuring proper positioning, spacing, and anchoring to meet engineering specifications.
