1016962 B.C. Ltd. O/A Metro Traffic Ltd. Is looking for 2 Traffic Control Supervisors to join them ASAP.

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time (30 to 35 hours a week)
Wage: $31.50 to $33.00 per hour (based on experience)
Duties:
• Directly supervising and managing a team of traffic control personnel, including flaggers, traffic control technicians, and other workers involved in traffic management.
• Developing traffic control plans and strategies in accordance with project requirements, safety regulations, and local ordinances.
• Assigning personnel and resources to specific locations and tasks based on project needs, traffic conditions, and safety considerations. This could include deploying traffic signs, cones, barriers, and other equipment to control traffic flow.
• Providing training and instruction to traffic control personnel on proper procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation. This may include conducting regular safety meetings and ensuring that workers are aware of potential hazards and how to mitigate them.
• Monitoring traffic conditions and the effectiveness of traffic control measures in real-time. Conducting regular inspections of work sites to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
• Coordinating with other stakeholders such as law enforcement, emergency responders, project managers, and the public to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize disruptions. This may involve communicating via two-way radios, phone calls, or in-person interactions.
• Identifying and resolving issues or conflicts related to traffic control, such as traffic congestion, accidents, or equipment malfunctions. Developing contingency plans and making adjustments as needed to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Keeping detailed records of traffic control activities, including work schedules, equipment maintenance, incidents, and any changes to traffic control plans. Generating reports for project managers, regulatory agencies, or other stakeholders as required.
• Implementing quality assurance measures to ensure that traffic control operations meet established standards of performance, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Job requirements:
• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Must have Traffic Control Person (TCP) Certificate.
• 1-2 years of experience as a Traffic Control Person.
• Class 5 driver’s license is required.

Skills Requirements:
• Must have good organizational and public relations skills.
• Ability to work long hours, weekends and / or early mornings are required.
• Ability to work under pressure and in all weather conditions.
• Lifting may be required at times.
