COMPANY BACKGROUND

Our operations span construction, travel, forest management, and heavy equipment rentals, maintenance, and repairs.

THE ROLE
The Civil Engineering Technologist supports the design, coordination, and delivery of our infrastructure projects by preparing detailed drawings, estimates, and documentation, while collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders. This position will be employed under Caribou Homes, one of the subsidiaries of the LRR group, but may support our other subsidiaries.

Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings and designs using AutoCAD, Soft plan, and Sketch Up for a wide range of projects including land development, residential, commercial projects.
• Assist in the development of engineering studies, technical reports, proposals, contract documents, and specifications.
• Support the administration of the tendering process, including the preparation of tender documents and bid evaluations.
• Coordinate and collaborate on design work with project managers, engineers, technologists, and other staff across LRR Group of Companies.
• Develop construction specifications, cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, project schedules, and technical reports.
• Conduct or oversee field inspection and testing of construction materials to ensure compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.
• May supervise, monitor and inspect construction projects.
• Support various civil engineering tasks such as survey data processing, grading design, and stormwater management modeling.
• Maintain project timelines and deliverables, ensuring client needs and quality standards are consistently met.
• Adhere to internal standards and best practices established by the LRR group (or Caribou Homes).

Start date: November 3, 2025

Job type: Permanent, full time.

Salary: $33/hour, 40 hours per week

Benefits: 6% Vacation Pay plus additional personal leaves and medical leaves. Benefits package that includes extended health, and dental coverage after 90 days. Free parking.

Position Structure & Reporting
• Reports directly to the Division Manager.
• Provides support to field staff and liaises with external vendors and service providers.
